April 23, 2020 - April 28, 2020

Netherlands-In-Spring-tour-2020

EXPLORE THE NETHERLANDS DURING THE SPRING SEASON

Join us for another exciting photo tour that will take us through some of the most amazing Dutch landscapes and seascapes in spring. We will explore some of the best locations The Netherlands has to offer. For 5 days we will be photographing unforgettable sunsets at the North Sea and magical soft forest morning light across some of the most beautiful Dutch National Parks. Our tours are meant to be more than photography; it is about enjoying, learning, seeing and living these beautiful landscapes and seascapes.

We will be after morning soft spring lights along magical forest paths and endless beaches at the North Sea for stunning sunrise and sunset. We have enriched out photography experience with cultural day trips to some must-see Dutch locations such as the unique Kinderdijk, UNESCO World Heritage since 1997. With a bit of luck and clear skies, we will stay up for some night sky photography.

For the enthusiastic photographers, we have added an optional day you will not regret to have visited through the mountains of the Belgian Ardeness. Situated in the south-east of Belgium, the Ardennes are one of nature's unspoiled areas, rich in fauna and flora, with vast forests, hills and fast flowing rivers. We will take you through some beautiful forest paths with fast flowing rivers. A true unique landscape for long exposure photography.

The tour includes also guidance, instructions and workshops where we will be covering shooting for HDR, panoramas, long exposure and composing. We will also offer image review sessions and guide through our post-processing workflow.

We will make the best of every moment. Therefore, expect to be up early and stay out there late.

Program

Day 1 - Sunset and Sunrise in Zeeland

Our photography tour starts with some very suggestive seascapes in Zeeland. Our early morning wake up will take us to the coast to capture the morning lights on the beach of Domburg. During our staying we will probably experience a tie change bringing new opportunities to recompose our shoots. During the day we will explore more of the coast line made out of dunes, several kilometers of sand and light houses. As the sunset approaches, we will drive to the famous Zeeland Brug to catch a fantastic sunset.

Day 2 -  Morning lights in the Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe

From Breda, we will make our way to the Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe. This is a Dutch national park in the province of Gelderlandand, approximately 55 square kilometers in area, consisting of heath lands, sand dunes, and woodlands. Most of the landscape of the park and the Veluwe was created during the last Ice Age. The park forms one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the Netherlands. Our walk will start early morning to catch the unique soft forest lights and if we are lucky also some stunning sun rays shining through the forest.

Day 3 - Forest morning light in the Veluwe

In day 3 we will drive back to the Veluwe National Park but towards the norther part to catch more morning lights and forest moods. Dutch people voted the Veluwe region as the finest area of scenic beauty in the country. It is where forests, sand drifts, lichen steppes and heathlands form a splendid natural landscape. And where you can spot the Dutch ‘Big Five’: foxes, badgers, roe deer, wild boar and red deer, as well as Highland cattle, beavers and hundreds of other mammals and birds.

Day 4 - Forest morning light in the Mastbos and Liesbos

The Mastbos (570 ha) is located south of Breda on the outskirts of the city. It is the best known forest in Breda and is nationally known for its paths and diversity. It owes its name to the many large pines that used to be called 'mast trees'. The best time to visit woods is early morning for a magical experience. Our walk will continue after lunch in another forest in Breda to catch some more landscape in the Liesbos.

Day 5 - Kinderdijk and Scheveningen

On the five we will take the opportunity to photograph some more spectacular sunset and sunrise images at two amazing locations. Our day starts with a sunset at Kinderdijk. You won’t find a windmill complex like Kinderdijk anywhere else in the world. The ingenious system of windmills and pumping stations has been keeping the soil dry here for nearly a thousand years now. Kinderdijk has been UNESCO World Heritage since 1997. Before the sunset starts, we will drive toward the north sea cost to one of the most well know beach in The Netherlands: Scheveningen. Scheveningen is a modern seaside resort with a long, sandy beach, an esplanade, a pier, and a lighthouse. The beach is popular for water sports such as windsurfing and kite boarding. Get ready for some spectacular scenarios.

Day 6 - Forest rivers in the Belgian Ardennes (optional)

For the enthusiastic photographers, we have added an optional stop you will not regret to have visited. At less than 2 hours driving, we will walk through the mountains of the Belgian Ardeness.
